The Findings and The Diagnosis

On Wednesday March 28, 2018 I went in for anal fissure surgery. Not everything went as planned. The surgeon did the actual surgery and everything went as planned. As she was cleaning me up she found a tumor at the end of my vagina. While she is not a gynecologist, she knew what she saw was abnormal so she biopsied the tissue.

On Saturday March 31, 2018 the surgeon called me while I was at work to tell me she had the results of the biopsy and that it was definitely cancer. She went on to say that she already sent referrals for a gynecologist specialist and the oncology unit at Kaiser Oakland.

Monday April 10th, 2018, I found myself meeting with the gynecologist specialist where everything was confirmed and diagnosed again. YAY me........ I will be doing radiation five days a week and chemo one day a week.

Thursday, April 18th I met with the oncology team where I  was told all about the process of getting ready for radiation.
